A Better Weigh

In the most rural parts of Nepal, the very young are often undernourished. In some cases, young mothers have not been taught about proper nutrition for their children. When kids fail to bulk up as expected, nutrition centers will step in and provide teaching, nourishment, and a place to stay for mom and baby.

I got to meet some of these moms and their beautiful children. When I arrived, most of the kids were already on their way toward being well enough to head home. The nutrition center even covers the costs of flights to areas far away.

To give you a sense of how remote some of these villages are, we were told to be mindful of tigers. Very good advice if you ask me.
